Heralding from the Blue Ridge Parkway region and the nations national parks circa 1900’s- these Lookout Fire Towers have a wonderful heritage that extends back almost 200 years. There is a wonderful story about the original Fire Protection of our Forests by early settlers- so the ingenious designs kept an unobstructed eye on the horizon helping spot early detection; thus avoiding the large destruction... Our design does the same via large windows wrapping 360’ Degrees. and a large deck and keeps unobstructed views. I have long been fascinated by this "Tower" structural form- being one of the simplest ways to create space and protect from the elements. Built with exposed Douglas Fir heavy timbers they are sturdy and simple cabin like structures- our version employs some creative latitude with a modern twist of an old classic.
